Directors Charter

Paintworks Phase 3 is an amazing place to live. Since 2019 there has been a  Board of Resident Directors,  voted in at the AGM.  All residents were able (and are able) to be nominated as directors. This means that residents can have a say, challenge and impact budgets and define who we are – the way we, as a community operate.

This gives residents a real voice, and ability to negotiate and challenge.

The role of a Resident Director is unpaid and voluntary. It is recommended that there is an odd number (for voting reasons) and wide enough to represent all, whilst not being a death by numbers.

Currently there are 5 directors, voted in at the last AGM (in August 2019). You can find out more about us below.

What Directors Are

  • Are residents working for all residents to make this an amazing place to live, work and play.

  • Here to represent the view of all, not themselves.

  • Work with clarity. We will publish minutes of meetings, via email. We will ensure that we communicate frequently and that we get budget clarity.

  • Sign off the budget, on behalf of ALL. We can therefore hold the Management Company, freeholder and landlord to account. You, as residents, will be part of this process.

  • Remember, directors are residents too – it’s in their interest to do this well. Directors will update and take on board feedback throughout.

  • Are here to raise your concerns and help strive for an amazing community, and great value service fees.

  • Accept all residents’ feedback, always. Reach out if have concerns or challenges. Including best way to communicate.

What Directors are not

  • A Property Management company. We are here to hold them to account, any issues with property/area must be raised with them (HML) and only escalated by exception

  • Have any ties/vested interest to the property management company, Landlord or freeholder. They are residents the same as all of us,

  • Paid. We are residents; neighbours. We do this voluntarily and are your voice. It's great to have residents doing this to ensure that the Paintworks is an amazing place to live.
